週末のイベント Event of Weekend

7/2 (土) バーチャル ラブ＆サーブ ＠茨城キリスト教学園高校

この日のために、高校生たちと、BCSの子どもたちは、両国の教育制度や学校での過ごし方、１年間のスケジュールなどについてグループに分かれて準備をし、交互にプレゼンテーションを行いました。

高校生は30名の生徒たちが参加し、英語での発表を一生懸命行っていました。また、学園職員と、水戸教会から１０名のサポーターが参加しました。

後半のお互いへの質問では、「カンボジアの有名な食べ物は？」とか、「日本人のみんなの好きな飲み物は？」など、生徒たちの交流もでき楽しかったと思います。

AED講習

フクダ電子の担当者の方に講習を開いていただきました！

専門用語がたくさんある中でのジョエルさんの通訳は大変だったと想像します。お疲れ様でした！

身の回りで事故が起きたり、急変で倒れて心肺停止になった時にすぐに駆けつけ助けることができるよう、みんな熱心に聞いていました。

女性の祝福の集い

水戸教会では結婚や出産をされるご家族が多く与えられていましたが、コロナ禍のために集まって祝福することができませんでした。そのため、このタイミングで彼女たちと共に祝福を喜び祝い、心を合わせて祈る時を持ちました。質問コーナーではたくさんの質問があり盛り上がりました！

July 2nd (Sat)

Sat July 2  Virtual ‘Love & Serve’ hosted @ Ibaraki Christian High School

Students at both schools, ICHS and BCS, were divided into groups to prepare and share presentations about the education system including the daily schedule at each level of schooling for each nation.

Thirty ICHS students participated, working hard to do their best at making presentations in English. They were helped by our team of 10 church members and another teacher at ICHS.

Near the end, an open time for questions and interaction was given, and students from both schools seemed to especially enjoy this. They asked questions like, ‘What is the most famous food in Cambodia?’ and ‘What is the Japanese people’s most popular drink?’

Sun July 3  AED Emergency Training / Women’s Day of Blessing

We thank the staff from Fukuda Denshi company who came to lead the AED training in case of emergencies.

Translating so many technical terms not often used must’ve been challenging for Joel, but we thank him for his effort and good work!

Everyone listened eagerly so they could be equipped to help in cases of emergency, accident, or sudden cardiac arrest.

God has blessed Mito church with many new families through recent marriages and childbirth. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, unfortunately, women were unable to gather as they usually would to bless those celebrating these life changing events. That made the joyful celebration and time of blessing even more meaningful as they read scriptures and prayed over each woman together. We had a question game, too, in which the ladies really came alive, which was exciting!
